Abstract(s)
A metodologia
This report is part of the Master's Course in Child and Pediatric Health Nursing, at the Escola Superior de Enfermagem São José de Cluny, in partnership with the Escola Superior de Saúde Santa Maria, which after public discussion will allow the obtaining of the academic degree of Master in Child and Pediatric Health Nursing and, consequently, the professional title of specialist nurse in the field of Child and Pediatric Health Nursing. This report aims to describe the learning path in the various clinical teaching contexts, with a view to promoting the improvement and development of Common, Specific and Master's competencies of the Nurse Specialist in Child and Pediatric Health Nursing. The Internship took place in five different nursing care contexts. Goals and activities were planned for each stage. My provision of nursing care to children and families was based on the philosophy of family-centered care and non-traumatic care. The philosophy of family-centered care recognizes the family as a constant in the child's life, and nurses must support, respect, encourage and enhance the family's strength and competence. Non traumatic care aimed to prevent or minimize the child's psychological stress and physical suffering. During the Internship, pain in preschool children was the focus of special attention, as was music therapy for its relief. Pain is a source of stress with negative effects, not only on the child, but also on the family, so it is imperative to intervene in prevention, management and effective treatment. Katharine Kolcaba defends comfort as a fundamental need for all human beings. It was on this theory that i supported the care provided to children in pain and their families. In the different internship contexts, i took into account the age and development of the child and the family, as well as health promotion. The entire training path was guided by respect for children and families and the values of the profession. The activities developed allowed the acquisition of knowledge in Child and Pediatric Health Nursing, to arrange tools for providing specialized care, from a more human and holistic perspective. The methodology used was descriptive, analytical and reflective about practice, based on scientific evidence.
