A adolescência é um período de transição onde surgem diversos desafios, nomeadamente no
que concerne ao desenvolvimento da identidade. É precisamente na fase da adolescência que se
verificam os primeiros sinais e sintomas da patologia do foro psicológico, logo existe a possibilidade para um compromisso da saúde mental. Verifica-se, então, a correlação entre a formação da
identidade e a saúde mental dos adolescentes.
Deste modo, o enfermeiro especialista em Enfermagem de Saúde Mental e Psiquiátrica possui um papel fundamental na intervenção à população em questão, pois o conjunto de competências e conhecimentos do mesmo serão motivadores para a promoção e aquisição de saúde mental
do adolescente através da otimização do desenvolvimento de identidade.
O relatório elaborado tem por base dois estágios realizados em contextos distintos, um num
Internamento e outro em Hospital de Dia, que visam o desenvolvimento de competências de Enfermeiro Especialista em Enfermagem de Saúde Mental e Psiquiátrica

We can therefore identify a correlation between identity formation and the mental health of adolescents. Thus, nurses specialized in Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing play a crucial role in engaging with the target population. Their expertise and knowledge can motivate adolescents to promote and acquire mental health, thereby optimizing their identity development. This report details two internships conducted in distinct settings – one in an inpatient ward and the other in a day hospital – designed to enhance the expertise of a Specialist Nurse in Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing.
