| dc.description.abstract | Com o aumento da utilização de medicamentos biológicos em diferentes áreas terapêuticas nomeadamente oncologia, infeciologia e doenças autoimunes, surgem desafios na produção em larga escala de forma a chegar ao maior número de doentes, mas também a nível de custos dada a complexidade destes medicamentos. A indústria biofarmacêutica tem vindo a crescer nos últimos anos quer pela maior utilização deste tipo de medicamentos quer pelo investimento em investigação em novas terapêuticas. Com a evolução destes medicamentos, surgem desafios que a indústria biofarmacêutica enfrenta nomeadamente a nível de produção e regulamentação, no entanto, apresentam-se novas perspetivas futuras relacionado com novas tecnologias e técnicas. A necessidade de mudança através da implementação de novas formas de fabrico tornou-se uma prioridade na medida em que só assim se conseguirá ultrapassar os obstáculos associados a estes medicamentos e para além disso se atingirá aspetos importantes como a qualidade, eficácia e segurança dos mesmos. Esta dissertação pretende debruçar-se não só nos desafios que este setor enfrenta, como também nas tendências do mercado biofarmacêutico a nível mundial. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | With the increasing use of biological medicines in different therapeutical areas, such as oncology, infectiology and autoimmune diseases, challenges emerge in large-scale production to reach the largest number of patients, but also in terms of costs, given the complexity of these medicines. The biopharmaceutical industry has been growing in recent years due to the increased use of biologics, but also the investment in research and development of new therapies. As these medicines evolute, there are challenges that the biopharmaceutical industry faces, particularly in terms of production and regulation, however, there are new perspectives there are new technologies and techniques. The need for change trough the implementation of new forms of manufacturing has become priority so far as this is the only way to overcome the obstacles associated with these medicines, and to achieve importance aspects such as quality, efficiency, and safety. This dissertation intends to focus not only on the challenges facing this sector, but also on the trends in the biopharmaceutical market worldwide. | pt_PT |
