Abstract(s)
família do doente agudo.
A realização do
decorrentes do PIS permitiram-me alcançar as competências comuns de Enfermeiro
Especialista.
Abstract:This report is the result of the frequency of the 2nd Master in Medical-Surgical Nursing at the Health School of the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal. It focuses on the activities along this route, which enabled me to achieve the common and specific skills of a Specialist Nurse in Medical-Surgical Nursing as well as the skills of a Master. To achieve those goals in the clinical practice along the internships, two dimensions were addressed, the Project of Intervention in Service (PIS) and the Competencies Learning Project (PLC). In order to give scientific consistency to the nursing interventions we present the conceptual framework that first explains the Theories of Uncertainty in Illness (Merle Mishel) and in second a literature review regarding the host to the family of the critical patient. During this process we used the project methodology. The realization of the diagnosis of the situation, the goal setting, the planning, as well as the execution and evaluation, ended in the PIS named "Reception to the patient's family in intermediate care unit". An effective communication and the establishment of a relationship with the patients family are vital parts of the quality care (Azoulay 2002). The reflection regarding the PIS allowed me to acquire the common skills of a Specialist Nurse. The realization of the training "Management of the patient with respiratory distress", where we approach the prevention of the pneumonia associated with mechanical ventilation and the elaboration of the poster "Instructions facing suspicion/detection of fire", consists in the interventions done to give response to the specific skills of a Medical - Surgical Specialist Nurse. The critical analysis to the interventions done along this route allow to observe a professional specialization as well as an acquisition of a deep knowledge regarding Medical Surgical nursing.
