A aviação é uma indústria altamente regulamentada e grande parte dessa
regulamentação é baseada nos padrões globais. Todas as normas e procedimentos
internacionais para notificação e investigação de ocorrências de segurança são
descritas pela ICAO no Annex 13 - Investigação de acidentes e incidentes de aeronaves
O único e principal objetivo de investigação de um acidente será a prevenção de
acidentes e incidentes futuros. Não é o objetivo desta atividade atribuir culpa ou a
responsabilidade. (ICAO, Annex 13)
Processos que envolvem a investigação formal estão descritos no Annex 13 e é o
método utilizado pela EuroAtlantic Airways, no entanto existe mais dois métodos
disponíveis no software da companhia o REDA e o MEDA.
O principal objetivo desta investigação consistiu no desenvolvimento do
conhecimento empírico, no que concerne os processos de investigação o MEDA, REDA
e Annex 13. Nesta pesquisa é utilizado o estudo descritivo para melhor compreender
a estrutura e funcionamento dos métodos de investigação, e determinar qual é o
método mais utilizado pelos outros operadores.
Dos diferentes tipos de acidentes e incidentes graves analisados nos casos
selecionados das outras companhias e relacionados com manutenção e o pessoal de
placa, conclui-se que, é utilizada a metodologia proposta pela ICAO o Annex 13. A
euroAtlantic Airways devera continuar a usar como a investigação formal o Annex13.

All international standards and procedures for notification and investigation of safety events are describe by ICAO in Annex 13- Investigation of aircraft accidents and incidents. The main objective of accident investigation is it to prevent future incidents and accidents. The purpose of this activity it’s not to assign blame or responsibility. (ICAO, Annex 13) The processes involving a formal investigation are mentioned in Annex 13 and it is the method used by EuroAtlantic Airways, however there are two more methods available in the company software REDA and MEDA. The main objective of this study is the gain empirical knowledge about the MEDA, REDA and Annex 13 methods of investigation. In this research it’s used the descriptive method to better understand the structure and functioning of the investigation methodologies to determine which is the most used by different operators. From the different types of accidents and serious incidents in this case studies related to maintenance and the ramp personal, it can be concluded that the ICAO proposal Annex 13 it’s the most used. EuroAtlantic Airways should continue to use Annex 13 as the formal investigation.
