Abstract(s)
a doença.
por fim as considerações finais.
This Report aims to explain the training path that was supported by theoretical nursing frameworks, the professional framework of the exercise, the best available scientific evidence and the critical and reflective analysis of clinical practice throughout the Internship, which contributed to the development of common and specific nursing skills of Specialist Nurse in Child and Pediatric Health Nursing. Caring in Pediatric Nursing involves numerous specificities and implies recognizing and valuing the child and family as a system, in all care contexts. In this training path, the focus of special attention was the care of children with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus and the concern with this problem stems from professional experience. As with any child's illness, this one has a great impact on itself and on her family. For caregivers, it is a challenge as it requires permanent vigilance and sudden restructuring, reorganization and adaptation of care. In daily life, the family assumes responsibility for managing the disease. However, as the child grows, management must be shared so that it is integrated and gradually assumes responsibility, until its full autonomy. Technological advances and growing evolution in health care require constant updating and training, since nurses are fundamental resources in the education and training of children and families, promoting the effective management of diabetes. It is important that professionals recognize the associated stressors and protective factors in order to provide holistic, non-traumatic and family-centered care. Arising from this theme, in an attempt to improve the quality of care, several activities were developed allowing the monitoring of children with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus and their families. This report comprises theoretical and conceptual framework, justification for the central theme, methodology, Internship path and significant learning for the development of Specialist Nurse skills and, in the end, final considerations.
