Abstract(s)
The attitude of the workers as a psychological state, acquired and organized through their own experience that urges them to react in a characteristic way to certain people, objects or situations, is not subject to direct observation. In order to obtain factual information, support comments or assess attitudes and opinions, an instrument is usually used in the form of a questionnaire (survey). The present study analyzes the internal consistency and reliability of an already sufficiently disseminated and nationally and internationally validated questionnaire applied to a selected population in the Autonomous Region of Azores. The items (psychometric variables) used in the questionnaire were those of the long version of the Portuguese version of the Copenhagen Psychosocial Questionnaire (CoPsoQ), with 119 items. Appling factor analysis techniques to the results of the 234 questionnaires collected, an optimized questionnaire was constructed with 54 items that, besides the advantage that can be obtained in its easier application, also presents better cost-benefit and better reliability in most of their scales/dimensions.
