Este relatório de estágio foi desenvolvido no âmbito da Unidade Curricular "Estágio de Natureza
Profissional com Relatório – Módulo II" do Curso de Mestrado em Enfermagem Comunitária na
área de Enfermagem de Saúde Comunitária e de Saúde Pública, na Escola Superior de
Enfermagem do Porto. O principal objetivo consistiu em descrever e analisar as experiências
acumuladas durante o estágio mencionado e o seu contributo para o desenvolvimento de
competências. Abrange dois contextos, a Unidade de Saúde Pública e a Unidade de Cuidados na
Comunidade, e um projeto comum na área da Saúde Escolar, em resposta a uma necessidade
localmente identificada. As aprendizagens foram significativas para a evolução da prática
profissional nos cuidados de saúde primários, enfatizando a importância do desenvolvimento
contínuo das competências e conhecimentos em enfermagem.
O relatório sublinhou a importância fundamental da enfermagem comunitária e de saúde
pública na promoção de estilos de vida saudáveis e na prevenção de doenças, com especial
enfoque em grupos vulneráveis, como os estudantes com doenças crónicas. O projeto
"EducaDiabetes" emergiu como uma iniciativa que reforçou esta perspetiva, capacitando os
agentes educativos para uma gestão adequada da diabetes mellitus tipo 1 (DM1) por parte dos
estudantes, em conformidade com o decreto-lei n.º 54/2018, de 6 de julho, que sublinha a
importância da colaboração entre os sectores da saúde e da educação.
O projeto foi conduzido adotando o Planeamento em Saúde como metodologia, o qual se ajustou
ao processo de decisão clínica específico da Enfermagem de Saúde Comunitária e de Saúde
Pública, bem como ao programa nacional de saúde escolar, no eixo das condições de saúde. A
implementação, utilizando como estratégia de intervenção a educação para a saúde,
demonstrou, numa avaliação subsequente, uma melhoria no nível de conhecimento dos agentes
educativos, reforçando a sua capacidade para apoiar a gestão a DM1 no ambiente escolar.
Em conclusão, o projeto "EducaDiabetes" destacou o papel crucial da sinergia entre os setores
da saúde e educação na criação de abordagens eficazes para lidar com doenças crónicas em
ambientes escolares. Não só dotou os agentes educativos de conhecimentos e competências
essenciais, mas também sensibilizou a comunidade escolar sobre a importância de proporcionar
um suporte adequado aos estudantes com DM1, contribuindo para um ambiente escolar mais
seguro e inclusivo.
This internship report was developed within the scope of the Curricular Unit "Estágio de Natureza Profissional com Relatório – Módulo II" of the Master's Course in Community Nursing in the scope of Community Health and Public Health Nursing, at the Nursing School of Porto. The main objective was to describe and analyze the experiences gathered during the aforementioned internship and their contribution to the development of skills. It covers two contexts, the Public Health Unit and the Community Care Unit, and a common project in the area of School Health, in response to a need locally identified project in the School Health area, in response to a locally identified need. The learning experiences significantly contributed to the evolution of professional practice in primary healthcare, continuous development of nursing skills and knowledge. The report emphasized the fundamental importance of community and public health nursing in promoting healthy lifestyles and preventing diseases, with a special focus on vulnerable groups such as students with chronic diseases. The "EducaDiabetes" project emerged as an initiative that reinforced this perspective, empowering educational agents to an effective management of type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1D) by students, in accordance with Decree-Law No. 54/2018 of July 6, which highlights the importance of collaboration between the health and education sectors. The project was conducted using Health Planning as the methodology, which aligned with the specific clinical decision-making process of Community and Public Health Nursing, as well as with the national school health program, focusing on health conditions. The implementation, using health education as the intervention strategy, demonstrated, in a subsequent evaluation, an improvement in the knowledge level of educational agents, enhancing their capacitation to support T1D management in the school environment. In conclusion, the "EducaDiabetes" project highlighted the crucial role of the synergy between the health and education sectors in creating effective approaches to managing chronic diseases in school environments. It not only equipped educational agents with essential knowledge and skills but also raised awareness within the school community about the importance of providing appropriate support to students with T1D, contributing to a safer and more inclusive school environment.
