Tendo em conta a importância desta figura histórica (tanto para a história de Portugal, como para a identidade de uma localidade), procuraremos perscrutar e debater a (re)construção de uma identidade coletiva a partir da figura de D. Lourenço Vicente. Assim, analisamos algumas lendas literariamente construídas durante o século XX e examinamos os traços de representação literária que sobrevivem no imaginário popular.
Bearing in mind the importance of this historical figure (both for the history of Portugal and for the identity of a locality), we will seek to examine and debate the (re) construction of a collective identity based on the figure of D. Lourenço Vicente. Thus, we analyze some legends literarily constructed during the 20th century and examine the traces of literary representation that survive in the popular imagination.
