Abstract(s)
O delirium, vulgarmente conhecido como síndrome confusional agudo, é pouco reconhecido
pelos profissionais de saúde e está associado a um aumento dos custos e do tempo de
internamento, apresentando-se como uma das causas major de mortalidade.
O presente relatório descreve as diferentes fases do projeto de intervenção profissional,
desenvolvido através de formação à equipa de enfermagem, uma proposta de norma de
enfermagem e um fluxograma de identificação e gestão do delirium, objetivando a melhoria da
qualidade e a segurança dos cuidados prestados a pessoa com delirium no serviço de urgência.
Constatou-se que, a formação da equipa de enfermagem contribuiu para a aquisição de
conhecimentos e de competências dos enfermeiros na abordagem à pessoa com delirium.
De igual forma, este relatório apresenta a análise crítica do processo de aquisição e
desenvolvimento das competências comuns, específicas do enfermeiro especialista em
Enfermagem Médico-Cirúrgica a pessoa em situação crítica e de mestre em Enfermagem.
Delirium, commonly known as acute confusional syndrome, is poorly recognized by health professionals and is associated with increased costs and length of hospital stay, and is one of the major causes of mortality. This report describes the different phases of the professional intervention project, developed through training to the nursing team, a proposal for a nursing standard and a flow chart for the identification and management of delirium, aiming to improve the quality and safety of the care provided to person with delirium in the emergency department. It was verified that the training of the nursing team contributed to the acquisition of knowledge and skills of the nurses in the approach to the person with delirium. Similarly, this report presents the critical analysis of the process of acquisition and development of common, specific skills of the specialist nurse in Medical-Surgical Nursing the person in critical situation and master’s in nursing.
