Abstract(s)
This report aims to reflect on the personal, professional and academic learning experienced during the 3rd semester of the 9th Master's Degree of Nursing in the area of Specialization in Infant and Pediatrics Health. It assumes a reflexive character, trying to describe and analyze the projected objectives and activities, relating them to the competences developed. This whole course was based on a reflexive practice, critical and constructive thinking based on the important contributions of Afaf Meleis transitions theory, the Philosophy of Family-Centered Care, Non-Traumatic Care and the theories of adherence to the therapeutic regimen more specifically in the adolescent with Type 1 Diabetes and made possible the acquisition and development of competencies attributed to the one who has master's degree, as well as the common and specific competences of the Specialist Nurse in Infant and Pediatric Health defined by the Nurses' Order. Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) is the most common form of diabetes in children and young people. Optimization of therapy and promotion of self-control are essential to achieve good metabolic control. Continuous Subcutaneous Insulin Infusin (CSII) are the safest, most flexible and accurate method of insulin administration in pediatrics. A T1D adolescent with controlled and competent management of therapy, associated with food and physical activity, becomes a potentially healthy adult, decreasing the risk of secondary complications associated to T1D. This learning process stimulated the beginning of a process of change and transformation of the real through the construction of an Intervention Program in the Adherence Process of the adolescents with T1D to the CSII to be implemented in summer camp context. The aim is to promote a transition to adult life as harmonious as possible, and to contribute to the improvement of the quality of life not only of the adolescent, but also of his family.
