| dc.description.abstract | Hijenska pećina, an Upper Pleistocene cave site, is located in the Plovunija quarry, north of Buje in Istria, Croatia. A detailed taxonomic, metric and taphonomic analysis of the faunal assemblage is presented in this work. Material consists of about 453 bones, bone fragments and teeth. A big portion of the remains belong to cave hyena (Crocuta crocuta spelaea) and the thesis will try to answer the question if Hijena cave was a hyena den or a natural trap as suggested in earlier works. | por |
