Abstract(s)
A defesa pessoal, a nosso ver, visa essencialmente preservar a
The present study is to contribute to understand whether continuous training in selfdefense is increasingly appropriate in a Police that wants to be more and more modern. With the practice of continuous Self-Defense, the police element will be better prepared, both physically and mentally, to be able to intervene in situations where hands-free techniques are the most recommended. This fact helps the police officer to control his emotions at the time of acting, and to be able to resolve the situation that has arisen quickly and without much apparatus. Self-defense, in our view, essentially aims to preserve physical integrity, with confrontation being the last scenario. Faced with this situation, a person who is well prepared in self-defense is more attentive to his surroundings and thus reduces the probability of becoming a victim in confrontations in which he is outnumbered, as he has a perfect idea of what he is capable of or not to do, and thus make the right decisions. The aim of this study is to have a better perception of the discipline of self-defense and its added value in the continuous training throughout the professional life of an element of the security forces.
