Abstract(s)
problemas similares, nomeadamente a obesidade.
(Wright e Leahey, 2002) e a “A Middle Range Theory of Self-Care of Chronic Illness” (Riegel et
al.,2012).
melhorando a saúde a longo prazo (Cuevas et al., 2021; Bright et al., 2019).
It is in the family that habits related to different lifestyles are created; what you eat, drink, sedentary lifestyle or exercise, sleeping habits, hygiene, etc. They are largely due to what is learned during childhood and this situation continues when a new family is created. It is, therefore, common in the same family to find several members with similar problems, namely obesity. In the presence of a health problem, in one of the elements that make up a family, the latter can also be decisive in resolving or minimizing the problem. By offering emotional support, having supportive behavior, establishing new healthier habits and promoting, for example, a balanced diet, can be a key element in facilitating the incorporation of an appropriate therapeutic regimen. When this health problem is obesity or being overweight, which will be seen as a chronic disease, this support is particularly relevant. In this context, the report focuses on a family systemic approach in Family Health Nursing, particularly in families with individuals diagnosed with obesity or overweight. Highlighting the crucial role of the Community Nursing Specialist in the area of Family Health Nursing in promoting family-centered care, but respecting the individuality of each member. For this, theoretical models were used to support professional action such as the Family Strengths Model (Gottlieb, 2013), the Calgary Model of Family Assessment and Intervention (Wright and Leahey, 2002) and “A Middle Range Theory of Self-Care of Chronic Illness” (Riegel et al.,2012). The aim was to take advantage of the family's resources and potential to promote improvements in health, through personalized nursing care. The family can not only represent a potential risk for the development of obesity, but also a vital element in the implementation of prevention and management strategies. To achieve more effective results in obesity management and health promotion, it is crucial to involve families in interventions that promote healthy lifestyles, minimizing risks and improving long-term health (Cuevas et al., 2021; Bright et al. , 2019). This report aims to demonstrate personalized and specialized nursing care for two families and also demonstrate leadership and collaboration capabilities and quality professional, ethical and legal practices, based on efficient collaboration between health professionals, based on continuous improvement in the care provided
