Abstract(s)
Trauma is a manifestation or set of local or generalized manifestations caused by a violent action or a traumatic agent in the body. Spinal cord trauma occurs when these forces are exerted directly or indirectly on the spine, which can cause structural or physiological changes in the person, with a significant impact on the life of the person and their family. As a future specialist nurse, the requirement to follow the scientific evidence in this field, currently instituted in many countries, becomes crucial. It is essential to disuse stretchers to restrict spinal movements in the transport of trauma victims, using only the stretcher with the ambulance's mattress, maintaining the shortest possible time on hard surfaces. This study to update in-hospital and pre-hospital protocols is essential to reduce injuries associated with immobilization, as well as several consequences that arise from it. The objective of this report is to critically reflect on the learning and development of common and specific competencies of the nurse specialist in medical-surgical nursing in the area of specialization of critically ill person. In the preparation of this internship report, a reflective methodology was used with a critical analysis of the academic path and the personal and professional evolution necessary for the acquisition and development of skills recommended for the attribution of the title of master and specialist in medical-surgical nursing in the area of the critically ill person. This path was developed in the context of an internship in general emergency, intensive care and pre-hospital services. The theory of uncertainty in disease by Merle Mishel was used as a theoretical framework.
