Abstract(s)
Introdução: Os Cuidados Paliativos (CP) são uma abordagem que visa melhorar a qualidade de
vida dos clientes que enfrentam problemas associados a doenças com risco de vida, bem como
da sua família. Previne e alivia o sofrimento por meio, da identificação precoce, avaliação
adequada e tratamento da dor e outros problemas, podendo ser eles físicos, psicossociais ou
espirituais. O envelhecimento demográfico da população Portuguesa e o aumento de doenças
oncológicas, neurológicas e insuficiência de órgãos, concorrem para a presença de um número
elevado de grupos de clientes que estão em grande sofrimento, pelo que os enfermeiros devem
ter competências para prestar assistência e cuidados adequados ao cliente/família,
evidenciando-se a necessidade que se imprime para a formação especializada em CP. No
cuidado à pessoa em situação paliativa e família o conforto, numa perspetiva multidimensional,
assume-se como pedra basilar.
Objetivo: Pretende-se apesentar o percurso de aquisição e desenvolvimento de competências
comuns de enfermeiro especialista (EE) e competências específicas do EE em enfermagem
médico cirúrgica na área da pessoa em situação paliativa, realizado no estágio de natureza
profissional (ENP), no contexto da unidade de cuidados paliativos (UCP) e da equipa comunitária
de suporte em cuidados paliativos (ECSCP).
Metodologia: O presente relatório baseia-se numa metodologia descritiva, crítico-reflexiva do
processo para obtenção competências comuns e específicas de EE, de acordo com a legislação
portuguesa para obtenção de grau de mestre e conforme previsto pela Ordem dos Enfermeiros
(OE) para o desenvolvimento de competências profissionais, tendo como mote orientador, a
intervenção especializada do enfermeiro sobre a promoção de conforto, considerando a
perceção do conforto pela pessoa em situação paliativa.
Resultados: Realizada a descrição das atividades concretizadas na ENP, que contribuíram para
o desenvolvimento de competências comuns e específicas em enfermagem médico cirúrgica à
pessoa em situação paliativa e ainda a elaboração de uma revisão rápida da literatura, sobre a
perceção de conforto pela pessoa em situação paliativa, que sustentaram a prática clinica com
evidência científica atual.
Conclusão: O desenvolvimento de competências comuns e especificas de EE, emancipa o papel
do EE em CP, para uma posição, que possa fazer diferença na vida daqueles que se encontram
no momento de grande vulnerabilidade ao enfrentarem doenças crónicas e terminais em
qualquer dos contextos da prática clinica, permitindo proporcionar o cuidado holístico, com o
contributo significativo no conforto, alívio do sofrimento e preservação da dignidade
Introduction: Palliative Care (PC) is an approach that aims to improve the quality of life of clients facing problems associated with life-threatening illnesses, as well as their families. Prevents and alleviates suffering through early identification, adequate assessment and treatment of pain and other problems, whether physical, psychosocial or spiritual. The demographic aging of the Portuguese population and the increase in oncological and neurological diseases and organ failure, contribute to the presence of a high number of groups of clients who are in great suffering, therefore nurses must have skills to provide adequate assistance and care to the client/family, highlighting the need for specialized training in PC. In the care of people in palliative situations and their families, the comfort, from a multidimensional perspective, is the cornerstone. Objective: The aim is to present the path of acquisition and development of common skills of specialist nurses (SN) and specific skills of the SN in medical surgical nursing in the area of people in palliative situations, carried out in the professional nature internship (PNI), in the context palliative care unit (PCU) and community palliative care support team (CPCST). Methodology: This report is based on a descriptive, critical-reflective methodology of the process for obtaining common and specific SN competencies, in accordance with Portuguese legislation for obtaining a master's degree and as provided by the Order of Nurses (ON) for the development of professional skills, with the guiding theme being the specialized intervention of the nurse on the promotion of comfort, considering the perception of comfort by the person in a palliative situation. Results: A description of the activities carried out in the PNI was made, which contributed to the development of common and specific skills in medical-surgical nursing for people in a palliative situation and also the preparation of a quick review of the literature, on the perception of comfort by the person in the situation palliative, which supported clinical practice with current scientific evidence. Conclusion: The development of common and specific SN skills emancipates the role of SN in PC, to a position that can make a difference in the lives of those who find themselves at a time of great vulnerability when facing chronic and terminal illnesses in any context of clinical practice, allowing to provide holistic care, with a significant contribution to comfort, relief of suffering and preservation of dignity.
