Abstract(s)
The present report aims to integrate the entire formative process through a critical-reflective analysis for the acquisition and development of Common, Specific Nurse Specialist in Child and Pediatric Health, and Master Competences from the 2nd Master’s Degree in Pediatric Nursing at the São José de Cluny Higher School of Nursing, in collaboration with the Santa Maria Higher School of Health. The theme of this report focuses on the Impact of chronic illness on healthy siblings, based on Afaf Meleis Theory of Transitions and Anne Casey Care Partnership, to substantiate and identify the contributions of the Specialist Nurse in Child and Pediatric Nursing. The objectives to be achieved are: to demonstrate knowledge and skills of a Specialist Nurse in Child and Pediatric Health Nursing throughout various internship contexts; to analyze scientific literature to identify specialized interventions that can be implemented to minimize the impact of chronic illness on healthy siblings. In the formative process, the provision of specialized care to children/young people and families is highlighted, aiming for a healthy transition where health and well-being result from the work developed. The care partnership established with the dyad also allowed recognizing the parent’s contribution to the impact of chronic illness on the child, empowering them with knowledge and skills to identify risk factors in healthy siblings and respond adequately to their needs. A descriptive and reflective methodology was privileged, supported by a review of reference literature and activities developed throughout the internships, followed by an explanation of the relevance of the theme under study, based on an integrative review of the literature and subsequent proposals for clinical practice, leading to a holistic intervention in care, directed towards the child and family.
