A invasão de ecossistemas florestais por plantas invasoras e os incêndios florestais são dois dos mais graves problemas ambientais do mundo. Acredita-se que as mudanças climáticas influenciem fortemente esses processos, e a invasibilidade de plantas exóticas invasoras provavelmente aumentará a degradação da paisagem. Por isso, é urgente estudar o comportamento das plantas exóticas invasoras em relação ao fogo.O objetivo do projeto Fogo & Invasoras, consiste em obter mais conhecimentos sobre a viabilidade de sementes após os tratamentos utilizados (corte e fogo), em Acacia dealbata Link e Hakea sericea Schrad uma vez que existe ausência de informação sobre este tema.O objetivo principal do meu contributo neste projeto é analisar os efeitos do fogo vs. corte na sementeira, mortalidade e capacidade de regeneração de Acacia dealbata, através do tratamento dos dados recolhidos em campo realizados pela equipa Fogo & Invasoras.
The invasion of forest ecosystems by invasive plants and forest fires are two of the most serious environmental problems in the world. Climate change is believed to strongly influence these processes, and the invasiveness of invasive alien plants is likely to increase landscape degradation. Therefore, it is urgent to study the behavior of invasive alien plants in relation to fire.The objective of the Aliens & Flames project is to obtain more knowledge about the viability of seeds after the treatments used (cut and fire), in Acacia dealbata Link and Hakea sericea Schrad, since there is a lack of information on this topic.The main objective of my contribution to this project is to analyze the effects of slash&burn in the seedbed, mortality and regeneration capacity of Acacia dealbata, through the treatment of data collected in the field carried out by the Aliens & Flames team.
