Abstract(s)
O diagnóstico social constituiu o elemento de suporte do presente trabalho,
identificar as necessidades dos idosos e novos desafios a colocar à organização. Portanto,
Neste projeto participaram 25 idosos.
The gerontological social intervention project had as its implementation context the social response of the residential structure for the elderly at Lar Imaculada Conceição, Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Vila Real. The social diagnosis constituted the support element of the present work, thus allowing to outline the intervention project to be implemented. Focused on the characterization of the elderly, as well as the routines developed at home, it allowed us to identify the needs of the elderly and new challenges to be posed to the organization. Therefore, in a first phase, we used intentional conversations, participant observation and documentary research to understand the reality of the institution in question and the daily lives of the elderly. Because, through these techniques, we collect information related to sociodemographic characterization, professional career, income, routines in the home and the activities developed. We are dedicated, in particular, to the characterization of the health condition of the elderly population, and such characterization included the assessment of their physical and mental state, applying the Barthel, Lawton, MiniMental scale and the Geriatric Depression scale that , given the information obtained, allowed us to prioritize the urgency of an intervention of socio-cultural animation with those who are most dependent. The lack of cognitive stimulation and the insufficient integration of the elderly with a high dependence on activities of socio-cultural animation, were considered priorities for the planning of our intervention project. In fact, this situation led to the implementation of the intervention project “(RE) COMEÇAR”, focused on cognitive stimulation activities, sensory stimulation activities, plastic expression activities, music therapy sessions. In this project 25 elderly participated. The main results of the intervention were a better spatial and temporal orientation of users with dementia, the creation of a routine in the participation of activities and contact and dialogue between the most dependent users with the most autonomous.
