Abstract(s)
excelência do cuidar.
This report, within the scope of the Curricular Unit “Clinical Practice” of the 1st Master's Course in Medical-Surgical Nursing in the area of specialization in Nursing for the Person in Critical Situation of the Escola Superior de Saúde da Cruz Vermelha Portuguesa de Lisboa, arises as a result of the conclusion of the final stage of the master's degree, in order to analyze the path taken to acquire and develop common and specific skills for specialist nurses and masters in Nursing. The journey comprised three internships, which took place in an Emergency Service, a Multipurpose Intensive Care Unit and an Emergency and Resuscitation Medical Vehicle. The constant evolution and increase in the clinical and technological complexity of the hospital environment requires continuous updating and reflection on the part of everyone involved in providing healthcare to the person in critical situation, so that they support their actions, based on safe and quality practice – achieving excellence in care. Basing the intervention on Joanne Duffy's Quality-Care Model©, I aimed to promote the quality and safety of Nursing care provided, having developed an internship project in different contexts on the Applicability of Debriefing in the context of a critical incident in the multidisciplinary team. I was able to verify that structured debriefing represents a tool that promotes continuous improvement in the quality of care provided to the person in critical situation and patient safety, as well as the professional and personal development of healthcare teams.
