Abstract(s)
A problemática da inserção dos jovens no mercado de trabalho tem sido estudada por vários
autores, realçando as dificuldades que enfrentam e as suas trajectórias após a formação inicial.
Os resultados destes estudos têm mostrado o tipo de dificuldades com que os jovens se deparam
na saída de casa dos pais e entrada no mercado de trabalho e que nem todos os percursos se
desenvolvem de forma fácil.
Num mercado cada vez mais competitivo e onde o desemprego tem vindo aumentar, os jovens
são um dos grupos mais afectados, levando a que sejam sujeitos a empregos precários.
É com base nesta problemática que nos leva ao objectivo principal deste estudo, identificar a
compreender os factores inerentes à transição dos jovens para o mercado de trabalho no
Concelho do Montijo, tendo como pergunta de partida “Como se caracterizam as trajectórias de
inserção no mercado de trabalho dos jovens com o ensino secundário?”.
Para desenvolver o estudo, recorremos a uma metodologia qualitativa, estudo de caso, usando
como técnicas de recolha de dados, a entrevista semiestruturada e a análise de dados préexistentes.
De seguida realizou-se o tratamento dos dados recolhidos, aplicando a análise de
conteúdo.
Os resultados do estudo permitiram identificar as dificuldades que os jovens enfrentam, na
transição para o mercado de trabalho e como os ultrapassam.
The integration of young people into the world of work has been a problem studied by several authors, who emphasize the difficulties young people face and their trajectories after initial training. The results of these studies have shown the difficulties young people face when they leave their parents’ house and enter the labour market, and that not all journeys unfold smoothly. In an increasingly competitive market where the unemployment rate has been growing, young people are one of the more severely affected groups. This is a situation that leads them to precarious jobs. This problem paves the way to the main purpose of this study: to identify and understand the factors there are inherent to young people’s transition into the labour market in the municipality of Montijo, having as a starting question: “How do we characterize young people’s trajectories in the integration into the labour market?”. In order to develop this study, we relied on a qualitative methodology, case study. As data collection techniques, we used semi-structured interviews and pre-existent data analysis. Then, we used content analysis to treat the data collected. The results of this study have made possible to identify the difficulties young people face in the transition into the labour market and how they are able to overcome them.
