A imigração e a criminalidade são temas que estão sempre na ordem do dia na nossa
sociedade. Basta abrirmos um jornal diĂĄrio ou vermos os noticiĂĄrios na televisĂŁo para sermos inundados com notĂcias desta problemĂĄtica. Deste modo surge a necessidade de estudar estes fenĂłmenos para se poder conhecer a sua realidade.
Com este trabalho pretende-se ainda inserir um novo termo na discussĂŁo, a cultura, e
saber se existem diferenças entre os crimes praticados em Portugal por indivĂduos provenientes de lugares distintos do globo. E por fim perceber o porquĂȘ das chamadas âmĂĄfias de lesteâ. Desta forma foram escolhidas trĂȘs populaçÔes como objecto de estudo.
Escolheu-se a população de leste europeu para se tentar perceber as måfias e as populaçÔes de origem cabo-verdiana e brasileira como termos comparativos. Esta escolha baseou-se no facto de serem as comunidades mais representadas em Portugal.
Este trabalho baseia-se na recolha de informação sobre a cultura, a criminalidade e imigração de modo a ter suporte teĂłrico para se proceder ao trabalho de campo. A parte prĂĄtica baseou-se na recolha de dados estatĂsticos junto de varias instituiçÔes e na realização de um conjunto de entrevistas a peritos que lidam diariamente com esta realidade. Para a anĂĄlise de dados estatĂsticos foi utilizada a aplicação informĂĄtica Microsoft Office Excel 2007 e para a anĂĄlise das entrevistas foram criadas tabelas em que se analisa cada pergunta individualmente.
Este estudo permitiu retirar conclusÔes acerca dos principais crimes cometidos no seio de cada uma destas comunidades bem como compreender melhor os fenómenos que orbitam à volta da imigração, mais propriamente a criminalidade relacionada com a imigração ilegal.
Abstract Nowadays in our society, subjects like immigration and criminality are in the order of the day. We just have to open a daily newspaper or see the morning news in television to be flooded with such news. So this is why we have to know this reality and to fulfill that goal it is necessary to study it. One objective of this work is to bring a new subject for this discussion. The subject is the culture and we want to know if there are several important differences between the crimes committed by individuals from different regions of the world. We want also to understand what the âEast European Mafiasâ are. To accomplish these objectives three different populations were chosen to be studied. We chose the immigrant east European population (Russia, Moldavia and Ukraine) because supposedly was there that this kind of organizations born. Brazilian and Cape Verde immigrant populations were chosen to compare with east European population because they are the most representative foreign communities in Portugal. This study is based in the search of information in subjects like culture, immigration and criminality. The field work was based in gathering statistic data from a group of public institutions and was based also in a set of interviews with some experts in these subjects. To analyze the statistic data Microsoft Office Excel 2007 was used and to analyze the interviews a board was built for every question. This study ables us to make some conclusions about the top crimes committed inside of each community and we were also able to better understand the problems surrounding the illegal immigration, just like the organized criminality.
