Abstract(s)
Integrated into a broader research project developed under the PhD in Nursing Science, this study aims to identify whether there is conflict and what are the decision-satisfaction levels in patients with Familial Amyloid Polyneuropathy (FAP) in some decision-making during the process of disease. It was thus developed a study of quantitative, exploratory and descriptive nature. Data were collected through a questionnaire that included sociodemographic characteristics and scales: “Conflict Scale Decision Making in Health (ECTDS)” by (O’Connor, 1995), and” Scale of Satisfaction with Decision Making in Health (ESDS) “by (Holmes-Rovner et al., 1996) adapted to Portuguese by (Martin, J., Martin, & M. Angelo, M., 2011). Collecting took place between January and June 2011 to a population of patients spread over 8 cores of the Portuguese Amyloidosis Amyloidosis and Consultation Center Health Covilhã - ACES Cova da Beira. The sample consisted of 53 patients. For data processing we used descriptive statistics and multivariate analysis, considering a likely maximum error of 5%. We used the nonparametric statistics in samples of less than 30 subjects, using the SPSS version 19.0.
