Abstract(s)
Police ceremonies tend to be undervalued within the Public Security Police (PSP) for a variety of reasons, although their relevance is evident in a standardized command and human resources management framework. As a cross-cutting, multidimensional and critically important theme for PSP, it is important to reflect, with possible added value in a framework of enhancing the institution's human capital, about its culture, identity and history, as well as exploring the opportunities offered to PSP by its ceremonial and rituals. The study of organizational culture helps to better understand the institution and its processes of change, providing the discovery of values, stories, symbols, languages and rituals. The protocol allows conveying the identity symbologies, communicating implicit and explicit messages to the members of the institution and to the external public. In this sense, the present investigation also seeks to present guidelines regarding the organization of a ceremonial event. Through a qualitative methodology of an applied nature, with exploratory and descriptive objectives, resorting to bibliographical and documentary research, as well as to the elaboration of interviews, the present work intends to constitute itself as a document of support and consultation during a planning and execution plan of police ceremonial events.
