Abstract(s)
O objetivo da presente investigação visa conhecer a perceção dos estudantes finalistas relativamente às soft skills necessárias para a inserção no Mercado de Trabalho, e, se, na sua opinião, a Universidade as estará a proporcionar.
Neste sentido e considerando que a investigação disponível centra-se nas necessidades do Mercado de Trabalho, nas exigências impostas às Instituições de Ensino Superior e aos Graduados, propusemo-nos realizar um estudo correlacional de natureza exploratória a finalistas do 1º e 2º ciclo de estudos, dos cursos de Engenharia Informática e Engenharia de Telecomunicações e Informática, a frequentar o ano letivo de 2014-2015 de uma Instituição de Ensino Superior Público Português.
O presente trabalho, procura assim obter resposta para a seguinte questão de investigação: Será que existe um gap entre as soft skills (competências transversais) que a universidade proporciona e a importância que o Mercado de Trabalho lhes atribui, segundo a perceção dos finalistas?
Face aos resultados obtidos podemos concluir que, existe um gap entre as soft skills que os finalistas consideram valorizadas no Mercado de Trabalho e as competências proporcionadas pela Universidade.
A investigação será realizada através de observações empíricas, seguindo uma metodologia quantitativa resultante da aplicação de questionários.
The objective of the present research is to assess if the final year students’ have the perception of the soft skills necessary for the labor market entry and if, in their opinion, the University is providing them with those soft skills. Considering that the available research focuses on the needs of the Labor Market, the requirements imposed on Higher Education Institutions and Graduates, we propose to carry out a correlational study of an exploratory nature to the final year students’ of the 1st and 2nd cycle of studies of Computer Engineering and Telecommunications Engineering and Computer Science, attending the academic year of 2014-2015 of a Portuguese Public Higher Education Institution. The present work seeks to answer the following research question: Is there a gap between the soft skills that the university provides and the importance that the Labor Market gives them, according to the final year students’ perception? Given the results obtained, we can conclude that there is a gap between the soft skills that the finalists consider relevant in the Labor Market and the competencies provided by the University. The research will be carried out through empirical observations, following a quantitative methodology resulting from the application of questionnaires.
