Abstract(s)
fora do flagrante delito.
This study is entitled Domestic Violence – The actions of the Polícia de Segurança Pública in the prevention of revictimization seeks to analyze current police procedures in the prevention of domestic violence, outside of the blatant crime. Additionally, this study will attempt to determine if PSP’s current measures in this field have been exhausted, or may possibly contribute to improving police efficiency in the prevention of the crime of domestic violence. In terms of methodology, the semi-structured interview technique was utilized in collecting data from police informants who work directly with domestic violence situations at various levels of police intervention. Aside from the actual experiences, these informants provided us with the approach taken by police, and the difficulties encountered in their course of action, against the prevention of revictimization in the context of domestic violence. The results obtained identify and substantiate the fact that preventative actions should include adopting a vision of proximity, by way of monitoring and redirecting victims, leaving behind the idea of police intervention revolving around the aggressor.
