Abstract(s)
Neuman. Que, enquanto referencial teórico, filosófico e conceptual, permite a
perspetiva do binómio enfermeiro-pessoa/família e a compreensão dessa atividade,
diferenciadas e diferenciadoras. A análise do percurso contribui para promover a
melhoria contínua do processo de aquisição de competências.
An aging population and the growing need for caregivers to ensure the well-being of the elderly in the community setting has been evident. These caregivers also need care and to be trained. Therefore, the following theme was defined: Intervention of the Nurse Specialist in Rehabilitation Nursing in the training of the Caregiver of the Elderly in Community Settings. A literature review was conducted, and it became evident that epidemiological and demographic constraints have generated the need to respond to a aged population, with more comorbidities, which is increasingly supported by the community and the Informal Caregiver. The role of the Nurse Specialist in Rehabilitation Nursing is assumed as essential in empowering those caregivers, since it uses the added skills associated with the work developed by the healthcare team. Neuman's Systems Model was adopted as the theoretical framework of this study. As a theoretical, philosophical and conceptual framework, it allows the perspective of the nurse-person/family binomial and the understanding of this activity, thus guiding its use in the identification of nursing diagnoses that guide intervention with the main purpose of maintaining the positive variables of well-being and reducing the effects of the negative variables, in order to keep the client system at an optimal level of well-being. The formative path was built and consolidated in the reflective practice, which is of utmost importance in the acquisition of differentiated and differentiating skills. The analysis of the pathway contributes to promoting the continuous improvement of the process of skills acquisition.
