Abstract(s)
mulher/família, devolvendo-lhe o protagonisto do parto.
movimento.
The humanization and positive labor experience have come to not be a worry to the woman/family as well as to the healthcare professionals, specially to the midwife. Nowadays, topics such as non-instrumentation of childbirth, non pharmacological measures for pain relief, freedom of movements and, a constant concern to promote the comfort of woman/family are addressed. The specialist nurse in Maternal and Obstetrics Healthcare Nursing is a professional with skills in the care of normal birth, becoming a key element in the empowerment of woman/family and the promotion of comfort measures, including the use of freedom of movement. Shared decision making promotes the autonomy of woman/family, giving them back the protagonist role on childbirth. Concurrently with the development of common and specific skills of the specialist nurse in Maternal and Obstetrics Health, I developed as a subject of interest, the promotion of comfort given by the midwife during the labor through movement. Based on the research question “What is the influence of movement on the comfort of woman in labor”? I prepared a Scoping Review in order to map all existing literature on the topic. The realization of it, allowed to delineate comfort-promoting interventions through freedom of movement (evidence-based practice), which were later analysed and reflected (reflexive practice), according to Katherine Kolcaba's Theory of Comfort. The results showed that the qualification of the specialist nurse, within the scope of the movement promotion in labor, is a determining factor for the empowerment of woman/family. The establishment of a good relationship, based on empathy, trust and active listening, influences the woman's/family's childbirth experience, which may affect the comfort of the moving childbirth.
