Abstract(s)
Pressupondo que as desigualdades entre mulheres e homens nas empresas são motivadas
pela dificuldade de conciliação da dupla jornada, o presente estudo empírico tem como
objetivo analisar as práticas de conciliação utilizadas por mulheres e homens,
compreendendo de que forma estes indivíduos e as organizações ultrapassam este
problema. Consequentemente, aborda-se o tema da igualdade de género que está ligado à
questão da dupla jornada.
A abordagem utilizada é a qualitativa, fundamentada por uma intensa revisão da literatura,
como método de investigação foi utilizado o estudo de caso, pois é pretendido estudar e
explorar de que forma é feita a conciliação da dupla jornada numa empresa do setor
automóvel. Para recolha de dados utilizou-se o inquértio por questionário direcionado aos
trabalhadores, a entrevista à responsável pela gestão de recursos humanos e a análise
documental de documentos internos disponibilizados pela empresa.
Com o presente estudo obtiveram-se resultados importantes para a empresa, no sentido em
que a auxilia na possibilidade de compreender melhor as necessidades de conciliação entre
a vida profissional e a vida famíliar por parte dos trabalhadores.
Assuming that inequalities between women and men in companies are motivated by the difficulty to manage the work-family conflict, this empirical study aims to analyse the work life balance practices used by women and men and how those workers and organizations overcome this problem. Consequently, the issue of gender equality is also addressed since it is related to the topic of double burden. This study was made using the method of qualitative research. By investigating and using a real example from an automobile company, it explores how the double burden is balanced in real cases within a specific organization. The collection of data was carried out in three ways: by a questionnaire given to the workers, by interviewing the responsible for human resources management and by analysing internal documents provided by the company. The results of our study are of great importance to the company since it helped to better understand the needs of its workers in what concerns the work-family balance and to promote a change regarding the company policies in the future.
