Abstract(s)
perceber a linguagem e evolução projetual do arquiteto.
In Architecture, the way spaces are experienced, the relationship between the individual and housing influence your way of life and the organization of society itself. This dissertation aims to give an interpretation of the Theory of Architecture in Portugal, particularly in the work of Raul Lino, showing how this contributed to the Casa Portuguesa. The study collects examples of the detached house designed by Raul Lino and editorials published in the media. It is intended to survey the dwellings designed by Raul Lino, in Coimbra, and then analyze the data collected. These case studies should be addressed to enable a true knowledge of the work of Lino, particularly in detached houses. To understand his work, his contribution to the Domestic Architecture in Portugal and to identify the same in Coimbra, there will be an effort to visit and experience them in order to provide a better understanding and framing. There will be a typological, spatial, social and volumetric survey in order to understand what Raul Lino´s intentions were and how his work relates to the location and surroundings. The comparison with some of the dwellings already published and well known is inevitable, if we want to understand the architect language and planning evolution. The main objective should be based on the identification and explanation of Raul Lino´s dwellings in Coimbra, analyzing the implementation, interior and exterior relationship, relationship with the site and landscape. In the detached house of Coimbra there is a more obvious reading, especially concerning the social spaces protection and the quite visible entrance of the dwelling to those who enter the plot. The interior / exterior relationship creates interstitial spaces that provide a more controlled personal experience outdoors, extending the spatiality. Examples include the patio, garden and porch. The visual approach is also an object of study in Houses of Coimbra, realizing that it is in the social spaces of each dwelling that Lino reinforces the interior / exterior relationship giving the individual an authentic inhabiting, a place where Nature and Landscape participate harmoniously.
