A vela radio controlada tem se tornado cada vez mais popular como desporto. A sua prática
nem sempre é possível devido ao mau tempo. Portanto uma das soluções é fazer um simulador que
simule o comportamento de um veleiro radio controlado. Com o avançar da tecnologia é cada vez
mais comum aprender vela num ambiente simulado e só depois passara à prática. Neste sentido o
objetivo desta dissertação de mestrado é construir um simulado de vela radio controlada.
Inicialmente será realizado um estudo dos simuladores de vela existentes no mercado bem como a
teoria da vela. Será também estudado um modelo matemático que melhor simula o
comportamento de um veleiro e que seja de fácil implementação em código. Seguidamente será
construído o simulador numa das mais populares plataformas de criação de software. Por fim será
feita uma avaliação do simulador bem como as conclusões retiradas do trabalho.

One of the solutions is to make a simulator that simulates the behavior of a radio-controlled sailboat. With the advance of technology, it is increasingly common to learn sailing in a simulated environment and only then start to practice. In this sense, the objective of this master´s dissertation is to build a simulated radio-controlled sailboat. Initially a study of the existing sailboats simulators on the market will be carried out as well as the sailing theory. A mathematical model that better simulates the behavior of a sailboat and that is easy to implement in programming code will also be studied. Then the simulator will be built on one of the most popular software creation platforms. Finally, an evaluation of the simulator will be made, as well as the conclusions.
