- Learning @pps: building a learning applications database to support physiotherapy educationPublication . Alves Lopes, António; Wijchen, J. vanRelevance:In the recent years a rapid increase in the use of technology in education was witnessed, particularly concerning e-learning platforms, social networks and web-quizzes. These tools have been increasingly adopted by many health related educational institutions. Because of their ease of use and quick dissemination, they offer the opportunity of powerful information sharing and ease of collaboration which can be taken anywhere, providing the potential for “anytime, anywhere” learning experiences (mobile learning). Purpose: The aim of this project was to create a sustainable and searchable database of learning applications, based on technical criteria and learning outcomes taxonomy, to be used in physiotherapy education. Approach/evaluation: Within the Facilitation of Learning working group of European Network of Physiotherapy in Higher Education (ENPHE), a list of criteria was created based on Bloom Taxonomy to characterize the learning outcomes, a set of technical aspects like: Operating System; Licence type and also their interest to Physiotherapy education. With that framework a form for pilot testing was developed with the participants of the ENPHE Working Seminar. Outcomes: A web based database of learning applications (Learning @pps) open to the physiotherapy educator’s community was created. The users can contribute, search and comment the repository using the classification criteria created by the working group. Discussion and conclusions: This stepwise process allowed the working group to build up a potential usefully tool that aggregates a list of application organized by the learning outcomes, and technical proprieties. Building and supporting a learning application database could provide to the physiotherapy educators a repository of a very relevant list of tools and software, that can be used to support competence building in physiotherapy students. Impact and implications: It is generally held by many educators that students learn best when immersed within a knowledgeable and socially rich environment. The use of such technologies could encourage learners’ deeper engagement with learning contents towards building competences within the physiotherapy profile. Funding acknowledgement: This project was created and supported by the European Network of Physiotherapy in Higher Education (ENPHE).
- Trends in physiotherapy education: retrospective analysis of ECPE congress abstractsPublication . Alves Lopes, António; Almeida, Patrícia; Lopes, António M FRelevance: The last decade both physiotherapy and education faced many demands. Educators are challenged to show evidence and report their best practices. An overview of what has been the focus in the European Congress of Physiotherapy Education (ECPE) and the main areas of interest and developments in the European Higher Education area could provide the opportunity to benchmark towards the policy statement of education of the World Confederation of Physical Therapy (WCPT), facilitating consistency and perhaps assisting in formulating a relevant research agenda for the future. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to give an overview of the trends in physiotherapy education of the last decennium as it is presented at the conferences of the European Region of the World Confederation of Physical Therapy (ER-WCPT). Methods/analysis: A descriptive and retrospective study was carried out and qualitative and quantitative analysis was made on the basis of content and study design/methodology, by three independent reviewers of all abstracts presented at each of the three previous ECPE conferences of 2004 (Estoril – Portugal), 2008 (Stockholm – Sweden), 2012 (Vienna – Austria). Categories for content analyses were developed based on the distribution and main themes used in the conference. Results: A total of n = 350 abstracts were classified. The main topics were divided between ICT – Information Communication Technology, Education and Employment, Continuous Professional Development, Teaching and Learning, Clinical Education, Evidence Based Practice: Teaching and Learning, Clinical Reasoning, Innovation and Curriculum Development, Teaching in Specific Areas, Interdisciplinary. And considering different methodological approaches: Descriptive Studies; Analytical Observational and Experimental Studies; Reviews and Mixed Methods. Discussion and conclusions: This analysis was constrained by lack of transparency on the description of methodologies in the abstracts and also by the different organization of the abstract books. We needed to create a category “Information available doesn’t allow a classification” and make our decisions based on the rather classic distinction of qualitative and quantitative study types and methodology. From the results we can find an increase of total presentations from the first to the last conference. In all conference there is a clear preference for poster presentations and the qualitative studies are more favored. There is an overall increase in research and implementation research from the first conference to the last. Impact and implications: The next step could be a comparison with WCPT congress education related abstracts and the proceedings of educational networks like COHEHRE and ENPHE. This kind of reflection could help researchers and educators create a research agenda and build upon earlier work. It gives an incentive to the development of high quality methodologies. An overview of reports gives the opportunity to compare with published results and could challenge publishing criteria.
- Measurement of top quark pair differential cross-sections in the dilepton channel in $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 and 8 TeV with ATLASPublication . ATLAS collaboration (2849 authors); Aguilar-Saavedra, Juan Antonio; Amor Dos Santos, Susana Patricia; Anjos, Nuno; Araque, Juan Pedro; Cantrill, Robert; Carvalho, João; Castro, Nuno Filipe; Conde Muiño, Patricia; Da Cunha Sargedas De Sousa, Mario Jose; Fiolhais, Miguel; Galhardo, Bruno; Gomes, Agostinho; Gonçalo, Ricardo; Jorge, Pedro; Lopes, Lourenco; Machado Miguens, Joana; Maio, Amélia; Maneira, José; Oleiro Seabra, Luis Filipe; Onofre, António; Pedro, Rute; Santos, Helena; Saraiva, João; Silva, José; Tavares Delgado, Ademar; Veloso, Filipe; Wolters, HelmutMeasurements of normalized differential cross sections of top quark pair (tt¯) production are presented as a function of the mass, the transverse momentum and the rapidity of the tt¯ system in proton-proton collisions at center-of-mass energies of s=7 and 8 TeV. The data set corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 4.6 fb-1 at 7 TeV and 20.2 fb-1 at 8 TeV, recorded with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. Events with top quark pair signatures are selected in the dilepton final state, requiring exactly two charged leptons and at least two jets with at least one of the jets identified as likely to contain a b hadron. The measured distributions are corrected for detector effects and selection efficiency to cross sections at the parton level. The differential cross sections are compared with different Monte Carlo generators and theoretical calculations of tt¯ production. The results are consistent with the majority of predictions in a wide kinematic range.
A análise do sangue periférico permitiu a determinação de: O-desmetiltramadol (4225 ng/mL), THC (1,20 ng/mL), THCCOOH (4,50 ng/mL), Mianserina (74 ng/mL), Topiramato (VE:6393 ng/mL) e Bromazepam (138 ng/mL).
