  • Mecanismos de apoio ao investimento em explorações de agricultura biológica: um caso de estudo

    RESUMO Com o crescente aumento das preocupações ambientais, tanto a nível do cidadão mais atento, como por parte da Política Agrícola Comum (PAC), torna-se importante apostar numa fileira do sector agrícola de qualidade e com boas práticas agrícolas. Deste modo, tem-se como objectivo neste trabalho, descrever todo o processo de elaboração de um projeto agrícola de Plantas Aromáticas, Medicinais e Condimentares (PAMC) em modo de produção biológica, o estudo de caso. Com o intuito de se enquadrar o estudo de caso inicia-se por se descrever a origem e evolução da legislação da PAC no que se refere aos apoios ao investimento dos Jovens Agricultores (JA) bem como aos apoios à produção em Agricultura Biológica (AB). Por fim, focalizam-se as principais dificuldades sentidas ao longo da elaboração do projeto, bem como na fase de implementação. Thus, the purpose of this paper is to describe the whole process of developing an agricultural project of Aromatic, Medicinal and Spice Plants (AMSP) employing Organic Farming (OF) mode, the present case study. In order to fit the case study, this work begins by describing the CAP legislation origin and evolution in what concerns capital grants of Young Farmers (YF) as well as the support to production in OF. Finally, this paper focuses the main difficulties encountered during the project´s planning implementation phases.   • Search for second generation scalar leptoquarks in $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV with the ATLAS detector

    The results of a search for the production of second generation scalar leptoquarks are presented for final states consisting of either two oppositely charged muons and at least two jets or a muon plus missing transverse momentum and at least two jets. A total of 1.03/fb integrated luminosity of proton-proton collision data produced by the Large Hadron Collider at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV and recorded by the ATLAS detector is used for the search. The event yields in the signal regions are found to be consistent with the Standard Model background expectations. The production of second generation leptoquarks is excluded for a leptoquark mass m_LQ < 594 (685) GeV at 95% confidence level, for a branching ratio of 0.5 (1.0) for leptoquark decay to a muon and a quark.
