Malinina, Yulia; Côrte-Real, EduardoChildren’s literature market has been on the rise since the middle of last century. Despite millions of books having been published, there are still many topics to explore and many ways to interpret them. This project’s purpose is to help young readers learn about human interactions. This goal will be achieved by developing a children’s picture book, focused on building friendships, using dogs as anthropomorphic main characters. The research for the project will use existing literature to analyze the concept of childhood, its’ history and how it influences the emergence of the literature targeted specifically at children. This project has the potential for further development and presentation to children in order to find out their reactions and opinions.
