- Optimization of a dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction method followed by UHPLC analysis for fluoxetine quantification in environmental water resourcesPublication . Recently, its presence in aquatic environment has been receiving a growing interest as several studies assessed its effects on aquatic fauna. Therefore, it's important to have an analytical method capable of monitoring these compounds at low concentrations. In this study, a new method was developed based on dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction to preconcentrate fluoxetine in a small volume of water sample (6 mL) before chromatographic analysis using ultra high performance liquid chromatography with fluorescence detection. Effect of composition and volume of extracting mixture, sample pH, vortexing time and salt addition were evaluated. Optimization of extraction conditions lead to an enrichment factor of 61 ± 18. After extraction optimization, recovery percentages of fluoxetine spiked into different water matrices between 83–110% were obtained. For the optimized method, the calibration curve was obtained in the range of 160–2500 ng/L with a limit of detection of 98.9 ng/L and a limit of quantification of 329.8 ng/L.
- Sustentação dos Sistemas de Armas da Força Aérea e o Plano de Desenvolvimento Sustentado Operacional 2012-2018Publication . Fonseca, AnaA presente investigação centra-se na sustentação dos Sistemas de Armas da Força Aérea, entre 2012 e 2016, período de implementação do Plano de Desenvolvimento Sustentado Operacional. Este visa garantir o cumprimento pleno da missão da Força Aérea, numa época de drástica redução orçamental, condicionante da sustentação dos Sistemas de Armas. O objetivo consiste em identificar os desvios da atividade sustentação dos Sistemas de Armas face ao planeado no referido plano, as causas e propor soluções para o futuro. Esta investigação utiliza um raciocínio hipotético-dedutivo, apoiado numa estratégia qualitativa com reforço quantitativo. Após apresentação do enquadramento teórico, são testadas as hipóteses identificadas, através de recolha de dados, de documentos e sistemas de informação da Força Aérea, e análise de entrevistas a elementos com funções-chave na atividade sustentação dos Sistemas de Armas. Constatou-se que a sustentação dos Sistemas de Armas apresentou desvios, quanto a aeronaves prontas e horas voadas, face ao preconizado no Plano de Desenvolvimento Sustentado Operacional. Constatou-se também que houve perda de capacidades e um elevado subfinanciamento dos Sistemas de Armas, com tendência a agravar-se. Por fim, foram identificadas medidas de otimização na sustentação de Sistemas de Armas, necessitando algumas duma grande mudança a nível de Sistemas de Informação. Abstract: This investigation concerns Air Force Weapon System sustainment, from 2012 to 2016, period of implementation of Operational Sustained Development Plan. This plan aims to ensure the fulfilment of Air Force mission, in a time of drastic budget reduction, that restrains Weapon System sustainment. The purpose consists in identifying deviations to what is specified in Operational Sustained Development Plan, concerning Weapon System sustainment, the causes and to suggest solutions for the future. This investigation uses a hypothetical-deductive reasoning, through a qualitative method reinforced by a quantitative method, and applied to a case study in Air Force. After presenting an initial theoretical study, hypotheses are tested using several data, collected in documents and Information Systems of Air Force, and interviews with elements in key functions within Weapon Systems sustainment activity. It was established that Weapon System sustainment suffered deviations, regarding ready to flight aircraft and flight-hours. It was also established capability loss and Weapon System disinvestment. At last, some optimization measures, with direct impact on Weapon System sustainment, were identified but some need a drastic change of Information System.
