- A Educação na Escola ModernaReflexão pedagógica de âmbito prático aliada à experiência do ensino do inglês no 1º.C.E.B.do ensino públicoPublication . Chambel, Elisabete Dias Bica de Jesus Pereira; Jorge, José ReisAccording to teaching practice this reflection intends to be a tool to acquire more skills and promote better teaching habits. The differential pedagogy, will be the engine of this reflection considering mixed-ability groups as context. There are in Portugal a large group of teachers who defends differential pedagogy methods and follow models of Differential pedagogy: High/Scope model and the Modern School Movement’s. Both models born around the sixties and seventies of the twentieth centuries: the first in the United States of America, under the Piaget’s influence; and the second in Portugal, under the Freinet’s influence. Active learning is the center of High/Scope model and cooperative learning is the focus of Modern School Movement (M.E.M.). A daily time to autonomous study is advocated by both methods. High/Scope uses this time considering the daily routine - plan, do, review (or individual) and M.E.M. preconizes what we call self-study time. The mentioned models will be the context to develop some activity proposals in order to help differentiation in English teaching lessons.
