- Inquérito aos Pescadores Profissionais de Peixes Anádromos no Troço Internacional do Rio Minho/Miño: Considerações sobre o rio, a pesca e a sua gestãoPublication . Yorgos Stratoudakis; Carlos Antunes; Instituto Português do Mar e da AtmosferaThis report describes the fieldwork and summarizes the results of a questionnaire survey that was performed with fishers for anadromous species in the international segment of river Minho/Miño (TIRM) during 2021. The main survey objective was to obtain and systematize individual fisher opinions in relation to a proposal of spatial reorganization of the anadromous fishing activity in TIRM. It was also seen as an opportunity to listen to local fishers on other aspects of management and fishing in this river. The survey, based on a similar study performed in 2019 in the river Mondego, was performed by two members of the Portuguese delegation of the permanent international committee for river Minho (CPIRM), within the scope of their advisory function and with a mandate from CPIRM. Fieldwork was performed with the assistance of local fisher Associations (Portugal) and Confrarias (Spain). The publication of this report, after a presentation of early results to CPIRM and the fisher associations, allows free online consultation by interested stakeholders. It is worth noting that the results section aims to present exclusively a synthesis of aggregate fisher replies, while in the discussion some co-author opinions are also presented.
