O presente trabalho final, elaborado no âmbito da licenciatura em Enfermagem
Veterinária da Escola Superior de Biociência de Elvas, descreve as atividades
desenvolvidas durante 14 semanas de estágio curricular realizado no consultório
veterinário InVet, no Porto, entre o dia 26 de fevereiro e 1 de junho de 2024. O
estágio teve como objetivo aprofundar os conhecimentos na área da medicina
veterinária integrativa e aperfeiçoar as práticas de enfermagem veterinária, com ênfase
na ozonoterapia. Este procedimento, reconhecido pelas suas propriedades anti-
inflamatórias, analgésicas, antissépticas e imunomoduladoras, foi amplamente
explorado, incluindo os seus modos e vias de aplicação, a sua história, os seus
mecanismos de ação, a sua produção, as suas indicações, a sua toxicidade, as suas
contraindicações e medidas de segurança. Na totalidade, a estagiária acompanhou
cerca de 477 procedimentos, incluindo 160 aplicações de ozonoterapia, 154 sessões de
acupuntura, 65 de laserterapia e 10 consultas de dietas e suplementação alimentar,
atuando principalmente no suporte às consultas e no atendimento ao público. Foram
também analisados em detalhe dois casos clínicos tratados com ozonoterapia, que
apresentaram respostas distintas.
The present final work, conducted as part of the Veterinary Nursing degree at the Escola Superior de Biociência de Elvas, describes the activities undertaken during 14-week internship at the InVet veterinary clinic in Porto, from February 26th to June 1 st, 2024. The internship aimed to deepen knowledge in the field of integrative veterinary medicine and refine veterinary nursing practices, with a focus on ozone therapy. This procedure, recognized for its anti-inflamamtory, analgesic, antiseptic, and imunomodulatory properties, was extensively explored, including its modes and routes of application, history, mechanisms of action, production, indications, toxicity, contraindications and safety measures. Throughout the internship, the trainee observed approximately 477 procedures, including 160 ozone therapy applications, 154 acupuncture sessions, 65 laser therapy treatments, and 10 appointment on diets and nutritional supplementation. The trainee primarily provided support during consultations and assisted with client interactions. Two clinical cases treated with ozone therapy were also analyzed in detail, each one showing distinct responses.
