Abstract(s)
O objetivo do estudo foi identificar na prática profissional do bibliotecário que atua na área
da saúde a possibilidade de aplicar os preceitos da Medicina Baseada em Evidência MBE
como estratégia para desenvolver a autonomia e instrumentalizar o pesquisador para
encontrar respostas que o possibilitem tomar decisões baseado em evidência no âmbito da
saúde, além de apontar uma nova competência para o Bibliotecário, como formador na
modalidade não formal de educação. Os relatos foram levantados a partir do conteúdo
postado no fórum de três cursos a distância, cuja proposta foi capacitar profissionais da área
da saúde oferecendo subsídios para locali zar, acessar e analisar criticam ente a informação
científica, disponíveis nas principais fontes de informação em saúde. A análise do conteúdo
identificou a necessidades de cursos de formação continuada para desenvolvimento de
novas competências para o bibliotecário da saúde. Com aplicação dos preceitos da MBE
durante o curso ob servou se que esta abordagem atende as expectativas, no que diz respeito
a melhoria da qualidade dos serviços prestados por estes profissionais e a possibilidade de
assumir o papel de multiplicador da prática baseada em evidência.
The aim of this study was to identify the possibility to apply the principles of Evidence Based Medicine in the professional practice of librarianship, who works in the area of health EBM as a strategy to develop the autonomy and assist the researcher with findi ng answers that enable decisions based on evidence in the health care range, in addition to pointing out a new level of competency to a Librarian as an instructor in a non formal education modality. The reports were collected from the content posted in the forum of three distance learning courses, whose purpose was to enable health professionals offering subsidies to locate access and critically analyze scientific information available in the main sources of health information. The content analysis identifi ed the need for continuing education courses to develop new skills for health librarians. With applicability of the principles of EBM during the course proved that this approach meets expectations with regards to improving the quality of services provided by these professionals and the ability to assume the role of a multiplier of evidence based practice.
