RESUMO
Esta dissertação foca-se no estudo das novas formas de habitar o
espaço doméstico urbano, tendo como base de análise conceitos de
autores de referência e o estudo de caso de uma rua do Centro
Histórico de Viana do Castelo.
Este estudo encontra-se abrangido pela ARU (Área de Reabilitação
Urbana) da Câmara Municipal de Viana do Castelo, que tem como
intuito incentivar a reabilitação do centro histórico até 2020,
fornecendo apoios de carácter financeiro, entre outros incentivos,
atribuídos pelo Plano de Pormenor do Centro Histórico.
A arquitectura da habitação doméstica urbana depara-se com
desafios consequentes de uma sociedade em constante e rápida
transformação, o que levou à investigação dos novos conceitos de
conforto, de flexibilidade tipológica, materiais de construção e de
adaptabilidade na transformação dos usos do espaço doméstico
urbano.
O estudo de caso desenvolve-se num específico contexto
arquitectónico, sociocultural e histórico e procura encontrar
respostas para a problemática das novas formas de habitar o espaço
doméstico.
A dissertação apresenta a seguinte estrutura: o capítulo I refere-se à
identificação da problemática, aos objectivos, à metodologia, à
justificação da investigação e à estrutura dos conteúdos; o capítulo II,
refere-se às problemáticas associadas aos centros históricos, ao
papel da habitação na conformação da forma urbana, às
componentes e terminologia sobre as novas formas de habitar o
espaço doméstico urbano e aos conceitos de conforto, de
flexibilidade tipológica, de materiais construtivos e de adaptabilidade
à transformação de usos; o capítulo III aborda a evolução dos tipos deespaço doméstico urbano no centro histórico de Viana do Castelo, a
evolução e a diversidade dos tipos de espaços domésticos urbanos e
as diferentes abordagens na problemática da reabilitação; o capítulo
IV foca-se na análise morfológica e tipológica e na análise individual e
comparativa dos estudos de caso e respectiva interpretação. Por
último, o capítulo V apresenta a síntese dos resultados e respectivas
conclusões.
Desta forma, através da análise individual das fichas de estudo de
caso, e da análise comparativa, elaborada nos quadros síntese,
conclui-se que a maioria das habitações do estudo da rua do Centro
Histórico de Viana do Castelo reúne as condições necessárias para
introdução dos conceitos estudados.
ABSTRACT This dissertation focus on the study of new ways of inhabiting the urban domestic space, based on the analysis of concepts from authors and a case study in Viana do Castelo. The urban domestic housing architecture is facing challenges resulting from a society that is in constant and rapid transformation. The new concept of flexibility, together with the versatility and the adaptability of the domestic space is important in urban housing to fit modern lifestyles, in order to meet the needs and the interests of the users. The case study theme is developed in an architectural, socio-cultural and historical context and tries to find answers to the research problem associated to the new ways of inhabiting the domestic space. The Dissertation is structured as follows: Chapter I refers to the identification of the problem, the objectives, the methodology, the state of the art and the content structure. Chapter II refers to new theoretical concepts about the urban-dwelling; the contemporary specificity of housing in cities with a historic center; the role of housing in shaping urban form. Chapter III discusses the evolution of the types of domestic space in the historic city of Viana do Castelo. Chapter IV provides a morphological and typological analysis of case studies with their related synthesis. Finally, Chapter V presents the summary of results and conclusions. Thus, through the individual analysis of each of the case study sheets, the comparative analysis and their conelation, it is concluded that the majority of the dwellings regarding the study of a street located in of the Historical Center of Viana do Castelo meet the necessary conditions for the introduction of the studied concepts.Keywords: living, comfort, flexibility, and adaptability.
