ESUMOObjetivo da Investigação: O presente estudo procura identificar e compreender as práticas profissionaisdos técnicos sociais junto de Imigrantes Nacionais de Países Terceiros (NPT) em Territórios de Baixa Densidade(TBD), particularmente nas sub-regiões do Alto-Alentejo, Alentejo Central e Baixo Alentejo. Metodologia:Utilizandouma abordagem qualitativa, conduzido pela questão de investigação “Que práticas profissionais dirigidas a imigrantes NPT em TBD?”, o desenho de investigação empíricarcorreu a entrevistas individuais e conjuntas (n=8), alvo de uma análise temática apoiada pelo programa informático MaxQDA12.Resultados: Os resultados preliminares do estudo apontam para uma significativa amplitude da intervenção, centrada em dimensões assistencialistas, no âmbito do apoio socioeconómico para a sobrevivência e garantia dos Direitos Fundamentais, para dimensões relacionais focadas na pro-moção de competências, flexibilidade, proximidade, disponibilidade e referência, bem como para dimensões político-legais de informação e acesso a direitos e deveres, e à cultura.Originalidade/Valor: O artigo destaca-se pela atenção que dá à imigração internacional em Territórios de Baixa Densidade, territórios carenciados de investigação, de políticas públicas, e de população. Destaca os contributos e dá voz aos técnicos sociais, quepor via de um trabalho próximo junto aos imigrantes, no quadro do desenvolvimento destes territórios com potencial para informar a política e a prática
Research Purpose: This study aims to identify and understand the professional practices of social workers working with Third-Country Nationals (TCNs) in Low-Density Territories(LDTs), particularly in the sub-regions of Alto Alentejo, Central Alentejo, and Baixo Alentejo.Methodology:Using a qualitative approach guided by the research question “What practices are directed at Third-Country Nationals (TCNs) in Low-Density Territories (LDTs)?”, the empirical research design involved individual and joint interviews (n=8), which were analyzed thematically with the MaxQDA12 software.Findings:Findings point to a broad scope of intervention, centered on assistance-oriented dimensions within the socio-economic support domain to ensure survivaland the guarantee of Fundamental Rights. The results also highlight relational dimensions focused on the promotion of skills, flexibility, proximity, availability, and role-modeling, as well as political-legal dimensions concerning information and access to rights, duties, and cultural integration.Originality/Value:The article stands out for its focus on international migration in Low-Density Territories, areas that are often lacking research, public policy attention, and population. It emphasizes the contributions of and gives voice to social workers, whose close work with immigrants within the framework of territorial development holds potential to inform both policy and practice.
