| dc.description.abstract | O presente relatório do estágio final da Licenciatura em Enfermagem Veterinária descreve as atividades desenvolvidas pela aluna no Anicura Hospital Veterinário do Algarve, abordando o tema “O papel do enfermeiro veterinário em emergências cirúrgicas de animais de companhia”. O trabalho encontra-se dividido em duas componentes: a primeira consiste numa monografia como tema “O papel do enfermeiro veterinário em emergências cirúrgicas de animais de companhia” e a segunda consiste numa análise da casuística recolhida, dos respetivos casos. Os objetivos gerais deste estágio passaram pelo acompanhamento das rotinas do local de estágio, bem como, o desempenho de funções na área da enfermagem veterinária. Durante o estágio, a aluna observou o atendimento a quinhentos e vinte animais, tendo sido contabilizados trezentos e noventa e cinco canídeos, cento e quinze felinos e dez novos animais de companhia (coelhos, chinchilas e furões). Para a realização do presente relatório foi realizada a recolha de informação durante o estágio, sobre o papel desempenhado pelo enfermeiro veterinário perante as várias situações de emergência. As emergências cirúrgicas com maior casuística registada ao longo do estágio foram, a síndrome da dilatação torção-gástrica (SDTG), o hemoabdómen e a piómetra, com a apresentação de casos clínicos observados. O enfermeiro veterinário desempenha um papel fundamental em situações de emergência cirúrgica dado que, este realiza a triagem do animal, prepara o material necessário e a sala de cirurgia, fazendo deste modo, tudo o que é necessário para que, a intervenção cirúrgica termine com sucesso e recuperação do paciente. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | The present report of the final internship on the graduation of Veterinary Nursing describes the activities developed by the student in the AniCura Veterinary Hospital of Algarve, approaching the theme “The role of the veterinary nurse in surgical emergencies of company animals/pets”. This report in divided in two components: the first consists in a monography with the theme “The role of the veterinary nurse in surgical emergencies of company animals/pets” and the second consists of an analysis of the collected casuistry of the respective clinical cases. The general goals of this internship goes through the follow-up of routines of the internship location, as well as, the performance in the veterinary nursing area. During the internship, the student observed the care for five hundred twenty animals, being accounted three hundred and ninety-five canines, one hundred and fifteen felines and ten new animals of company (rabbits, chinchillas and ferrets). For the conclusion of the present report, data collection was made during the internship, about the role played by the veterinary nurse towards several emergency situations. The surgical emergencies with more casuistry recorded during the internship were, gastric torsion dilation syndrome, hemoabdomen and pyometra. Veterinary nurses play a fundamental role in surgical emergency situations, as they screen the animal, prepare the necessary material and prepare the operating room, doing everything that is necessary so that the surgical intervention ends successfully and patient’s recovery. | pt_PT |
