O presente relatório descreve o estágio curricular realizado na Agricert – Certificação
de Produtos Alimentares, Lda., em Elvas entre 18 de fevereiro e 18 de junho de 2026,
no âmbito da licenciatura em Agronomia da Escola Superior de Biociências de Elvas. O
estágio teve como principal objetivo acompanhar o processo de controlo e certificação
da produção biológica, procurando compreender as exigências técnicas e normativas
associadas a este modo de produção. As atividades desenvolvidas distribuíram-se por
várias etapas do processo de controlo, incluindo a verificação da documentação dos
operadores, a análise documental e a participação em visitas de campo a explorações
agrícolas e agropecuárias em modo de produção biológico. Ao longo do período de
estágio foram acompanhados 88 processos de controlo distribuídos por culturas
permanentes, sistemas forrageiros e produção pecuária, e culturas anuais, abrangendo
olivais, figueira-da-índia, vinhas, pastagens, bovinos e ovinos em regime extensivo, entre
outros. A Agricert contava, em maio de 2026, com 2.190 operadores em modo de
produção biológico sob controlo em Portugal, e com 437 operadores em países
terceiros. Do ponto de vista da análise crítica, destacou-se a importância da análise
documental como componente central do processo de controlo, bem como a
necessidade de aprofundar, ao longo do estágio, conhecimento sobre identificação e
registo animal e sobre os documentos obrigatórios em função do tipo de exploração.
Como propostas de melhoria, identificaram-se o desenvolvimento de uma
funcionalidade de preenchimento assistido da checklist de controlo por inteligência
artificial, combinando a documentação dos operadores e as fotografias recolhidas em
campo, e a criação de um sistema de alertas automáticos baseado no historial de cada
operador, com vista a apoiar a preparação das visitas de controlo pelos técnicos
responsáveis.
This report describes the curricular internship carried out at Agricert – Certificação de Produtos Alimentares, Lda., in Elvas, between 18 February and 18 June 2026, as part of the Agronomy degree at the Escola Superior de Biociências de Elvas. The main objective of the internship was to follow the control and certification process in organic farming, seeking to understand the technical and regulatory requirements associated with this production mode. The activities carried out covered several stages of the control process, including the verification of operators’ documentation, documentary analysis and participation in field visits to agricultural and agri-livestock holdings under organic production. Over the course of the internship, 88 control processes were accompanied, distributed across permanent crops, forage systems and livestock production, and annual crops, covering olive groves, prickly pear, vineyards, pastures, cattle and sheep in extensive systems, among others. In May 2026, Agricert had 2,190 operators under organic production control in Portugal, and 437 operators in third countries. From a critical analysis perspective, the importance of documentary analysis as a central component of the control process was highlighted, as well as the need to deepen, throughout the internship, knowledge on animal identification and registration and on the mandatory documents required according to the type of holding. As improvement proposals, two measures were identified: the development of an artificial intelligenceassisted checklist completion tool, combining oprators’ documentation and photographs collected during field visits, and the creation of an automatic alert system based on each operator’s history, aimed at supporting the preparation of control visits by the responsible inspectors.
