Bembrive Ć© unha parroquia da Ć”rea periurbana da cidade de Vigo, que dende un pasado eminentemente rural de natureza labrega, foi evolucionando, a travĆ©s da mudanza das sĆŗas actividades econĆ³micas e tipoloxĆas urbanas, atĆ© converterse nunha zona residencial de baixa densidade.
O contexto xeogrĆ”fico de Bembrive determina a sĆŗa evoluciĆ³n, que se encadra dentro dos procesos de urbanizaciĆ³n experimentados na orla periurbana das grandes cidades galegas, en concreto na de Vigo. Historicamente, estes espazos periurbanos foron tratados coma un solo de reserva para a expansiĆ³n da cidade, sen atender a sĆŗa natureza e necesidades. Debido a isto, non existen estudos urbanos pormenorizados que sitĆŗen Ć” parroquia de Bembrive no centro desta problemĆ”tica.
O obxectivo Ć© estudar os procesos urbanĆsticos vividos na parroquia, dende a metade do sĆ©culo XX, e as ferramentas empregadas polas administraciĆ³ns pĆŗblicas para a ordenaciĆ³n e o planeamento urbano de Bembrive, permitindo achegarse Ć” natureza e causas dos cambios experimentados, acadando a base necesaria para identificar directrices relevantes en futuras intervenciĆ³ns urbanas.
A metodoloxĆa empregada para a consecuciĆ³n destes obxectivos Ć© o estudo de caso da propia parroquia de Bembrive. Coa anĆ”lise de cartografĆas e datos, histĆ³ricos e actuais, de diversas fontes, trazarase a evoluciĆ³n urbana experimentada atĆ© os nosos dias. Posteriormente estudiaranse as ferramentas utilizadas para a ordenaciĆ³n urbana da parroquia, centrĆ”ndose nos Plans Xerais de OrdenaciĆ³n Municipal do Concello de Vigo; para despois analizar a sĆŗa influencia nos procesos urbanĆsticos de Bembrive.
A presente tese de disertaciĆ³n procura asĆ contribuĆr ao coƱecemento mĆ”is profundo da natureza urbanĆstica, pasada e presente, de Bembrive e servir de modesta ferramenta para futuras intervenciĆ³ns urbanas sobre a parroquia, concluĆndo que Ć© necesario un estudo previo mĆ”is profundo para un planeamento urbano axeitado nas zonas periurbanas das grandes cidades.
Abstract: Bembrive is a parish in the peri-urban area of the town of Vigo, which has evolved from a mostly agricultural rural background to become a thinly populated residential area, by changing its economic activities and urban typologies. Bembrive's geographical context has determined this evolution, which is taken within the urbanization processes experienced by Galicia's main towns' peri-urban borders, specifically Vigo's. These peri-urban spaces have historically been considered as spare building sites for the town's growth, without dealing with their nature and needs. Due to that, there are no detailed urban studies available which put Bembrive in the centre of this situation. The goal is to study the urban processes that have affected the parish since the middle of the twentieth century, as well as the tools used by the Public Administration in Bembrive's urban development and planning, allowing us to deal with the nature and causes of the changes it has gone through, and giving us the information required to identify relevant directives in future urban interventions. The methodology used to meet these goals has been a case study of Bembrive Parish itself. Analysing cartography and historical and current data from several sources, its urban evolution until today will be followed. Later, the tools used in the urban development in the parish will be studied, focusing on Vigo's Council General Urban Development Plan. After that, its influence on Bembriveās urban processes will be analysed. This dissertation aims to contribute to a deeper knowledge of Bembrive's past and its present urban nature, and to be useful as a modest tool for future urban inerventions in this parish. As a conclusion,it can be said that a closer previous study is needed in order to perform suitable urban planning in peri-urban areas around big towns.
