| dc.description.abstract | O presente trabalho procura investigar os acontecimentos no Estado Português na Índia, no período compreendido entre 1947 e 1962. Para tal recorremos a entrevistas e análise documental. Foi aplicado o processo de análise qualitativa, tendo por base um raciocínio indutivo, para produzir várias questões derivadas, com o objetivo de consolidar o conhecimento e obter a resposta a uma questão central. A presente investigação tem como objetivo geral investigar os acontecimentos que levaram ao fim do Império Português na Índia e como objetivo específico, analisar se o Estado Português tinha capacidade para manter o território na Índia. A Questão Central do presente trabalho é definida por, “No período de 1947 a 1962, quais os acontecimentos que levaram ao fim do Estado Português na Índia e em que condição se encontrava a defesa do território?” Podemos concluir que no período de 1947 a 1962, os acontecimentos que levaram ao fim do Estado Português na Índia, foram provocados por uma fraca defesa do território, originada por falta de meios materiais e humanos e por um conjunto de decisões desajustadas da realidade. Revelando, que Portugal perante os factos apresentados, não tinha capacidade de manter os territórios na Índia. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | The present work, search into the events of the Portuguese State in India, between 1947 and 1962. As so we use interviews and documentary analysis. The qualitative analysis process was applied, based on an inductive reasoning, to produce several derived questions, with the purpose of consolidating knowledge and obtaining the answer to a central question. The present investigation has as general objective to investigate the events that led to the end of the Portuguese Empire in India and, as a specific objective, to analyse if the Portuguese State had the capacity to maintain the territory in India. The Central Question of the present work is defined by, "In the period from 1947 to 1962, what events led to the end of the Portuguese State in India and in what condition was the defence of the territory?" We can conclude that from 1947 to 1962, events that led to the end of the Portuguese State in India were provoked by a weak territorial defence, caused by a lack of material and human resources and by a set of misallocated decisions of the local reality. Revealing that Portugal faced the facts presented had no capacity to maintain the territories in India. | pt_PT |
