Esta tese procura descrever a estrutura das relações formais e informais, em duas unidades de internamento hospitalar. Determinou-se que a aproximação metodológica através da Análise de Redes Sociais, seria ideal para captar as relações em estudo.
O instrumento de colheita de dados, foi um questionário de relações por nós elaborado.
As redes resultantes apresentaram densidades intermédias, com valores mais elevados quanto às relações formais em ambos os serviços.Foram identificados dois componentes fortes nas relações formais no serviço A e três no serviço B. Quanto às
relações informais verificou-se um componente forte nos dois serviços.
Estruturalmente identificou-se quatro grupos equivalentes tanto nas relações formais como nas informais, com
uma composição heterogénea.
Constatou-se que as relações formais condicionam as informais pois obteve-se associações moderadas nas
correlações das duas matrizes, sendo no serviço A de 0.508 e no serviço B de 0.465.
O grau de satisfação mais elevado com a comunicação entre os profissionais, foi em relação aos enfermeiros, principalmente no serviço A. No serviço A predominam os enfermeiros como Keyplayers em ambas as relações. No serviço B, estes predominam nas relações formais, mas nas informais são os médicos que têm um papel principal.
