| dc.description.abstract | A Doença Trofoblástica Gestacional (DTG) resulta sempre de uma fertilização anormal e, apesar de este tumor representar menos de 1% das neoplasias ginecológicas, é importante conhecer a sua história natural e abordagem, não só porque podem colocar em risco a vida das mulheres em idade fértil, mas também pela sua alta taxa de cura se tratados atempadamente. Os exames radiológicos podem sugerir o diagnóstico numa fase precoce e têm um papel na avaliação da doença metastática. A ecografia é habitualmente o exame de primeira linha, mas a ressonância magnética também tem um papel na detecção da DTG e na avaliação da sua extensão. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Gestational trophoblastic disease (GTD) always derives from an abnormal fertilization and, though these tumors represent less than 1% of gynecologic neoplasia, it is important to know their natural history and approach, not only because they can threaten the lives of fertile women, but also because of the high rate of cure if treated in time. Imaging studies can suggest the diagnosis of early disease and have a role on the evaluation of metastatic disease. Ultrasound is usually the initial examination of choice, but magnetic resonance also has a role in the detection of GTD and the evaluation of its extent. | pt_PT |
