| dc.description.abstract | O estudo apresentado centra-se na Vila de Caminha-Matriz, localizada no litoral Norte de Portugal Continental, mais concretamente, na região do Minho. Elabora-se uma análise sobre a evolução e transformação urbana da Vila e sua morfologia. A investigação teve como principal elemento motivador o entendimento da relação entre o passado e o presente, assim como os aspectos que influenciaram a evolução de Caminha ao longo do tempo. A metodologia seguida, para a elaboração da Dissertação, baseou-se na recolha de informação disponível (registos escritos, fotográficos, cartografia e entrevistas), análise, reinterpretação, cruzamento de dados e produção de elementos gráficos. Segue-se uma linha de análise contínua, desde a escala da Vila à escala da habitação, abordando de forma global todas as questões que influenciaram as transformações morfológicas aí operadas. A investigação caracterizou-se em termos gerais, pelo reconhecimento da marca da Vila e pela descrição, co-relação e tratamento da informação recolhida. A Vila revela transformações urbanas que alteraram o desenho da sua morfologia. A componente Social, Cultural e política influenciaram também a configuração do território. Cabe analisar as diferentes circunstâncias em que se sucederam tais transformações urbanísticas, assim como o conhecer e entender as mutações que contribuíram para a imagem actual da Vila de Caminha-Matriz, de forma a constituir uma base de conhecimento e entendimento futuro, o mais perceptível e consciente possível. | por |
| dc.description.abstract | Abstract: The present study focuses on the Village of Caminha-Matriz, located on the northern coast of Portugal, more specifically, in the Minho region. It elaborates an analysis on the Evolution and Transformation of the Urban Village and its morphology. The research had as main motivator the understanding of the relationship between Past and Present, and the works that influenced the whole transformation process. The methodology for the preparation of the dissertation was based on the collection of information (written records, photographs, maps and interviews), analysis, reinterpretation, data crossing and production of graphic elements for a better understanding. Following is a continuous line of analysis, ranging from the Village scale to the housing scale by approaching global issues that affect all the morphological transformations operated in urban areas. The inquiry was characterized, in general terms, by the historical character that marks the town, descriptive and of correlation to treat all information collected. The village, of medieval foundation and with a rich historical legacy, has been exposed to urban transformations over the years that were responsible the change of its morphologies. The social, cultural and political components influence the process of morphological transformation of the territory in many ways. The deferent circumstances that followed such urban transformations, as well as knowing and understanding the mutations detected, characterized the image of the Village of Caminha-Matriz. The building reality, the morphology of the Village and the works identifying the evolutionary pathway of their identity, are recognized to form a base of knowledge and future understanding, as noticeable and conscious as possible. | por |
