Abstract(s)
A afirmação de poder, tão velha quanto a história da humanidade, tão dispersa nas suas formas e rostos, tão abrangente nos territórios e ambições, faz do seu intuito um pendulo permanente e incansável. O Quarto Poder, tema eleito para a presente proposta, é vizinho do poder político, judicial e executivo, e quantas vezes denominado por “Contrapoder”, “Equilíbrio entre os Poderes” e “Poder Moderador”. Hoje, na esteira de desafios, constrangimentos e ameaças, luta pela sobrevivência, entre os deslumbramentos tecnológicos, os mesmos que fazem turvar a perceção entre o certo e o errado, o bom e o mau, a transparência e a opacidade, e perigosamente a destruição de fronteiras entre a verdade e a mentira. Avesso aos fundamentos da tradição jornalística, ao respeito pelos princípios éticos e deontológicos, o cenário transmedia, as narrativas sem fronteira e a ininterrupta corrente dos media sociais são hoje ameaças reais ao poder dos media que, já tendo sido reconhecido como “Frustrado”, correndo agora o sério risco de ser “Castrado” no pensamento e na ação. Na defesa de um jornalismo livre, independente e defensor dos ideais democráticos, a presente proposta assenta num cenário de oportunidades e riscos ao jornalismo hiperconectado, traço de identidade inscrito no universo digital, o mesmo caldo que tende a asfixia-lo e a, porventura, descaracterizar a sua raiz e orientação. Pior, a desvirtuar a sua essência mais nobre – ser manifestação de liberdade e independência. Face aos comportamentos de risco dos promotores das fake news e dos influenceres, é exigido um esforço de natureza superior para que a identidade e a autoridade dos media e do jornalismo prevaleçam. Poder castrado, não!
The affirmation of power, as old as the history of humankind, so diverse in its shapes and faces, so vast in its territories and ambitions, makes of its purpose a tireless and permanent pendulum. The fourth power, the theme chosen for the current application, is close to the political, judicial and executive powers, and so many times called “Counter power”, “Balance between Powers” and “Mediator Power”. Today, having undergone challenges, constraints and threats, it struggles for survival, amid the technological dazzling, the same that blur the perception between right and wrong, good and evil, transparency and opacity, and dangerously the destruction of frontiers between truth and falsehood. Contrary to the groundings of journalistic tradition, and to the respect for the ethical and deontological principles, the transmedia scenery, the non-borders narratives and the uninterrupted flow of the social media are real life threats today to the power of media that, having been recognized as “Frustrated”, facing now the serious risk of being “Castrated” in though and in action. In the defense of a free journalism, independent and defender of the democratic ideals, the current application settles on scenery of opportunities and risks to the hyperconnected journalism, a trace of the identity of the digital universe, the same soup that tends to asphyxiate it and, by chance, change its roots and orientation; worse, to misinterpret its nobler essence – to be the manifestation of freedom and independence. Due to the risk behavior of the promoters of fake news and influencers, an effort of a higher nature is demanded so that the identity and the authority of the media and journalism prevail. Castrated Power no!
