- Endo, an educational campaign on endometriosis – How graphic design can work towards women’s empowerment regarding their healthPublication . Schundau, Marisa Carolina Caneva Ribeiro da Cruz; Duque, Juliana Raquel do Espírito Santo FonsecaThis project connects graphic design with healthcare, by developing a visual and educational campaign on endometriosis, an often-misunderstood condition that affects women in reproductive age. The goal is to raise awareness and encourage women to learn more about this overlooked problem. The visual campaign, called “Endo”, aims to spread knowledge about symptoms, which are often likely to be dismissed or mistaken for ‘normal’ menstrual discomfort. The campaign also highlights the importance of medical consultation, to help in easing the long-term impacts of endometriosis, which can significantly affect women's quality of life. Moreover, it intends to break the stigma associated with menstrual health issues, by creating a safe environment where women feel comfortable discussing their symptoms and seeking help. This project investigates several graphic design-related topics, including print and digital media such as posters and educational brochures as well as digital media like social media platforms and websites. This approach was taken to reach a larger audience, improve data understanding, and store information. For the message to be effectively distributed, there must be a connection between graphic design, healthcare providers, schools, and women's organizations. The educational campaign Endo is an important first step toward improved healthcare for women and a tool for their empowerment. It not only raises awareness about the condition but also encourages women to be proactive about their health, which eventually results in an earlier diagnosis, better treatment, and an enhanced standard of living for those affected by endometriosis.
